The warning is clear: Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.
But how can we heed the warning if we don’t even know who she is?! Let’s answer that question first.
Zechariah 5:7-11. “Here is a lead disc lifted up, and this is a woman sitting inside the basket”; then he said, “This is Wickedness!” And he thrust her down into the basket, and threw the lead cover over its mouth. Then I raised my eyes and looked, and there were two women, coming with the wind in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between earth and heaven.
So I said to the angel who talked with me, “Where are they carrying the basket?”
And he said to me, “To build a house for it in the land of Shinar [Babylon]; when it is ready, the basket will be set there on its base.”
So I said to the angel who talked with me, “Where are they carrying the basket?”
And he said to me, “To build a house for it in the land of Shinar [Babylon]; when it is ready, the basket will be set there on its base.”
The land of Shinar is not referring to physical Babylon of old, but rather, Mystery Babylon of modern times. The key to seeing what this is is in understanding that when God gave these words to the prophets, He had the advantage of seeing the end from the beginning. He knew what the world would be like, and He knew what language we would be speaking.
It is no coincidence that Shinar sounds a lot like shiner in English, meaning one who shines, or the shining one.
There is one, and only one, nation in modern times who can fit this description, and the light of this truth is displayed throughout her national anthem. I wasn’t going to include the whole anthem here, but it didn’t feel right to omit a single line.
O! say can you see by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watch’d, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O! say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,
O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream,
‘Tis the star-spangled banner, O! long may it wave
O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,
A home and a country, shall leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave,
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave,
O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave.
O! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation,
Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the Heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust;”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave.

And let us not forget the poem America the Beautiful, the 1911 version ending two stanzas with the line, From sea to shining sea!
Zechariah has more to say about America.
Zechariah 1:8-11 I saw by night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees in the hollow; and behind him were horses: red, sorrel, and white. Then I said, “My lord, what are these?” So the angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what they are.”
And the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, “These are the ones whom the Lord has sent to walk to and fro throughout the earth.”
So they answered the Angel of the Lord, who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, “We have walked to and fro throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is resting quietly.”
By now you should know that all of God’s prophecies have multiple layers of meaning, and the following is just one.
The three horses that walked to and fro throughout the earth were red, sorrel and white. The word sorrel is from an unused word and in some translations (eg. the KJV) is translated as speckled. Perhaps another valid translation would be spangled. When read in this manner, the three horses of different colours are red, white and speckled (or spangled), and were sent out to keep peace in the earth.
That is, until wickedness was set up in their midst.
This is Wickedness
The woman in the basket is the US Federal Reserve, established in 1913 and headquartered in Washington DC. It’s often stated that it is neither federal nor a reserve, for it is a private organisation that has been given control of the nation’s money. Since it’s inception, the US Dollar has lost almost all of it’s purchasing power, as demonstrated in the following chart.
That chart only goes to 2020. Since then the US has printed trillions of dollars more, with another 1+ trillion of debt approved just a few days ago.
It is also no coincidence that the creation of the US Federal Reserve immediately preceded the beginning of World War I. In fact, that is a major clue as to the identity of the woman, being that in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth. It’s also significant that prior to this point the earth was relatively peaceful, as Zechariah’s prophecy of the horses showed. Since then, the world has been in turmoil.
This wickedness has taken over nearly every country on earth, with Central Banks predominating. They are on the verge of taking total control with the rapid development and roll-out of CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currencies) but they won’t succeed, because God is about to judge them.
False Religion
Many within the church believe Mystery Babylon represents a false religion, with the Roman Catholic church often singled out. In Delivered from Delusion we made the argument that it was Jerusalem, but we did add that, for that interpretation to be true, Israel as a nation had to increase significantly in prosperity from the time of writing. We’re happy to admit that we were wrong. The fact is, money is a false religion, and Jesus Himself drew up the battle lines.
Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [riches].”
Thus, we see that there is a war between the true God and the false god of this world—money. When people argue that Mystery Babylon cannot be the US Federal Reserve, just remember that to much of the world, money is their god.
Come Out of Her
God doesn’t tell us to do something without giving us the means. So how do we come out of the world’s corrupt fiat-money based financial system? Gold and silver won’t save us, for we're told as much in Zephaniah:
Zephaniah 1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold
Shall be able to deliver them
In the day of the Lord’s wrath;
But the whole land shall be devoured
By the fire of His jealousy,
For He will make speedy riddance
Of all those who dwell in the land.
Shall be able to deliver them
In the day of the Lord’s wrath;
But the whole land shall be devoured
By the fire of His jealousy,
For He will make speedy riddance
Of all those who dwell in the land.
The means of escape can be found in a prophecy in the widely misunderstood chapter 11 of Daniel. Please remember, again, this is one layer of meaning, and by no means is it the only intended meaning. In the following verses we have interposed our interpretation. For the sake of understanding, just be aware that in this interpretation of the passage, god means money or currency and the god of gods is a reference to the US Dollar. The king is that which is going to rule them all.
Daniel 11:36-39 “Then the king [Bitcoin] shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god [money], shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods [the US dollar], and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished [unlike silver and gold]; for what has been determined shall be done. He shall regard neither the God of his fathers [gold and silver] nor the desire of women [precious stones and pleasant things], nor regard any god [any other store of value or means of exchange]; for he shall exalt himself above them all. But in their place he shall honor a god of fortresses [lit. a money of security, ie. crypto-currency]; and a god which his fathers did not know [a new form of money] he shall honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and pleasant things [these will be sold to purchase Bitcoin]. Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses [central banks, the IMF, BIS, WEF, etc.] with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.
There is one more aspect to this that needs to be mentioned. In Jesus’ letters to His church, one of the promises to those who overcome was this:
Revelation 2:17 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes … I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.”
This is describing a hardware wallet that contains a private key, uniquely yours, that only you know. It is the means by which no-one else is able to spend your Bitcoin. These are promises that will be fulfilled in the church when Jesus returns. Thus, we can say with a reasonable level of confidence that Bitcoin is going to be the currency of the next millennium.
What about those who don’t have the means to acquire Bitcoin now? Keep in mind, Bitcoin had a truly miraculous origin, an immaculate conception as some call it. The creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, is widely thought to be an alias, with the real genius behind Bitcoin being unknown. Once Bitcoin had been created he gifted it to humanity and disappeared without a trace, leaving a wallet containing one million Bitcoin untouched. Is it possible that Jesus Himself was the creator? We can only speculate, but will those Bitcoin be given to God’s people at the beginning of the millennium as a reward for the work they did for Him during the current age? It will be interesting finding out!
